Imperial Princess Atsuko (惇子内親王)

Imperial Princess Atsuko (year of birth unknown - February 19, 930) was a member of the Imperial Family during the mid Heian period.
She served as Kamo-Saiin (Imperial Princess appointed to serve the deities of the Kamo-jinja Shrines)
She was the third imperial princess of the Emperor Seiwa. Her mother was nyogo (a high-ranking lady in the court (a consort of an emperor) FUJIWARA no Takaiko (a daughter of FUJIWARA no Nagara, zo daijo daijin (the Grand Minister, posthumously conferred). She was a sister-uterine of Emperor Yozei and Imperial Prince Sadayasu. Imperial Prince Sadazumi, who is said to be an ancestor of Seiwa-Genji (Minamoto clan), is her paternal brother.

With the enthronement of her elder brother, the Emperor Yozei, she was appointed as Kamo-Saiin (Imperial Princess appointed to serve the deities of the Kamo-jinja Shrines) by bokujo (to decide by fortunetelling) on March 9, 877. She entered Murasakinoin on May 27, 880. She resigned when her father the Retired Emperor Seiwa died in January, 881. She died on February 19, 930.
