Mt. Oshio is a mountain located in Nishikyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture.

Summary
Mt. Oshio is located in the Nishiyama mountain range in the western Kyoto City. At the foot of the mountain, there is Shoji-ji Temple (the Temple of Flowers) as well as Oharano-jinja Shrine and Rakusai New Town. You can have a clear view of this mountain from Rakusai New Town. You can also see the mountain far in the west, from some lookout points and Kiyomizu-dera Temple in the central Kyoto City.

A paved road, Kyoto Prefectural Road 141 Oshio-Oharano Line, runs from the foot to the top of the mountain. Regular vehicles could also enter the mountain before, however they are restricted now (pedestrians are allowed to enter).

It is said that the ashes of the deceased Emperor Junna was scattered at the mountaintop and there remains Oharano no nishi no mine no misasagi (the tomb of the Emperor Junna). Around the mountaintop are transmitting facilities for FM radio stations in Kyoto which enable broadcast in the extensive area of the southern Kyoto Prefecture.
