Fujiwara no Iemune (藤原家宗)

FUJIWARA no Iemune (817 - November 16, 877) was a child of FUJIWARA no Hamao from the Northern House of the Fujiwara clan. His mother was from the Okinaga clan. His official rank was Sangi (councillor) and Sadaiben (major controller of the left), and his Ikai (Court rank) was Jusani (Junior Third Rank).

He served five emperors for successive generations, namely from Emperor Saga to Emperor Seiwa. In 822 he erected Hoke-ji Temple in Hino, Uji district, Yamashiro Province (Kyoto City) (now, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Province) and enshrined a small statue of Yakushi Nyorai (the Healing Buddha). He died in November 16, 877 and FUJIWARA no Hirokage, his son succeeded him.
