Fujiwara no Masanori (藤原雅教)

FUJIWARA no Masanori (1113 - April 2, 1173) was a kugyo (court noble) during the latter part of the Heian period. He was the first son of FUJIWARA no Iemasa. His mother was the daughter of FUJIWARA no Akitaka. FUJIWARA no Masanaga was his son. He was initially named Masanori.

He was awarded the rank of Jugoinoge (Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade) in 1118, and after that, assumed Zuryo (the head of provincial governors) in various areas and posts at Minbusho (ministry of popular affairs) in succession. He also assumed Innocho Betto (chief administrator of a retired Emperor's office) under Cloistered Emperor Gotoba. For this achievement, he was appointed to Gyobukyo (Minister of Justice) in 1153, to Uchuben (middle controller of the right) in 1154, and to Kurodo no to (head chamberlain) additionally becoming To no ben (the chief of officials of the dajokan) in 1156. In the personnel reshuffle carried out after the war, he was appointed to Sangi (a councilor) at the rank of Shosanmi (Senior Third Rank) on October 6, 1156. On September 27, 1165, he resigned form his government posts and became a priest.
