Fujiwara no Tomoyasu (藤原倫寧)

FUJIWARA no Tomoyasu (year of birth unknown - 977) was a court official during the mid-Heian Period. He was the child of FUJIWARA no Koretake, who had the title of Sama no kami (Captain of Samaryo, Left Division of Bureau of Horses). His mother was the daughter of MINAMOTO no Tsunemoto. He had the title of Shoshiinoge (Senior Fourth Rank, Lower Grade). He successively held the post of kokushi (provincial governors) of Mutsu and Ise Provinces. His children included FUJIWARA no Michitsuna no Haha (the Mother of FUJIWARA no Michitsuna) and FUJIWARA no Nagato.

He was a middle class noble of FUJIWARA no Nagara line and lived in Ichijo Horikawa. One of his daughters gave birth to FUJIWARA no Michitsuna with FUJIWARA no Kaneie, and she was historically famous as the author of "Kagero Nikki" (The Gossamer Years), 'FUJIWARA no Michitsuna no Haha'. Another daughter had a daughter with FUJIWARA no Takasue, ('FUJIWARA no Takasue no Musume', the author of "Sarashina Nikki" (The Sarashina Diary")).
