Takatsukasa Fusasuke (鷹司房輔)

Fusasuke TAKATSUKASA (June 22, 1637 - March 1, 1700) was a Kugyo (high court noble) during the Edo period. His father was Norihira TAKATSUKASA. His mother was the daughter of Tamemitsu REIZEI. His concubine was Take, the daughter of Hidenari MORI. Nobuko TAKATSUKASA and Fusako TAKATSUKASA were his sisters and Kaneharu KUJO was his brother. Kanehiro TAKATSUKASA, Sanesuke SAIONJI (married into Yasuhime SAIONJI's family), Sukenobu TAKATSUKASA, and Kaneka ICHIJO were his children. He was promoted to Juichii (Junior First Rank) on February 3, 1672.

Brief Personal History

He was born to Norihira TAKATSUKASA in 1637. He served as the Naidaijin (the Minister of the Interior) from 1658 to 1661, the Udaijin (the Minister of the Right) from 1661 to 1663, the Sadaijin (the Minister of the Left) from 1663 to 1667, the Sessho (regent) from 1664 to 1668, and the Kanpaku (chief adviser to the Emperor) from 1668 to 1682. He passed away in 1700.
