Haji no Chishima (土師千島)
HAJI no Chishima (year of birth and death unknown) was a person from the Asuka Period in Japan. In the old Japanese syllabary characters, his name was pronounced in the same way. His Kabane (hereditary title) was Muraji. As HAJI fought for Prince Otomo (Emperor Kobun) in the Jinshin War which broke out in 672, he was defeated and captured at Yasukawa no Hama in Omi Province (coast side of Omi province) in August 14, 672. During the Jinshin War, Haji clan fought among themselves for some took the side of Prince Otomo and others Prince Oama (later Emperor Tenmu, the enemy). Further information about HAJI including what happened after being captured is unknown.
