Imagawa Kinnori (今出川公規)
Kinnori IMAGAWA (February 25, 1638 - December 8, 1697) was Kugyo (court noble) in the early Edo period. He served four Emperors from the Emperor Gokomyo (the 110th) to the Emperor Hgashiyama (the 113th) and he rose to Juichii Udaijin (Junior First Rank, the minister of the right). His father was Naidaijin (the minister of the center), Kinnobu DAITOKUJI. His mother was an adopted daughter of the lord of the Choshu clan, Hidenari MORI (a daughter of the lord of the Iwakuni clan, Hiromasa KIKKAWA). His foster father was Udaijin, Tsunesue IMAGAWA. His lawful wife was a daughter of the lord of the Marukame clan, Takakazu KYOGOKU. Udaijin, Koresue IMADEGAWA was his son and a wife of the lord of the Mito clan, Tsunaeda Tokugawa and a wife of the lord of the Hitachifuchu clan, Yoriaki MATSUDAIRA, were his daughters.
In 1645, the peerage was conferred on him. He got promoted rapidly as the family head of the Seiga family taking various positions such as Jiju (Imperial Household Agency staff), Konoefu shosho (Minor Captain of the Inner Palace Guards) and Konoefu chujo (Middle Captain of the Inner Palace Guards), and then, in 1659, he became Jusanmi (Junior Third Rank) to rank with Kugyo. In 1664, he got promoted from Gon Chunagon (a provisional vice-councilor of state) to Gon Dainagon (a provisional chief councilor of state). In 1678, he took a post of Ukone no daisho (Major Captain of the Right Division of Inner Palace Guards) and in 1679, he took an additional post of Umaryo gogen (Inspector of the Right Division of Bureau of Horses). From 1683 to 1684, he was in the position of Naidaijin (the minister of the center). From 1692 to 1693, he served as Udaijin. In 1694, he rose to Juichii (Junior First Rank).
