Kosho (康正) (a busshi (sculptor of Buddhist Statues)) (康正 (仏師))
Kosho (1534 - 1621) was a busshi living from the Azuchi-momoyama period to the early Edo period. The 21st head of Keiha School (one of the sculptor schools of Buddhist statues). Daibusshi (master of busshi) no taifu (high steward) Hoin (the highest rank in the hierarchy of Buddhist priests). He served as the To-ji Daibusshi (master of busshi restoring the statues in To-ji Temple).
Brief Personal History
Under the order of Hideyoshi TOYOTOMI, he dedicated Shichijo bussho (a Buddhist sculpture workshop at Shichijo) to Konko-ji Temple of Ji Sect, and he moved his workshop to Shijo-Karasuma.
