Ishikawa Mitsusada (石川光貞)
Mitsusada ISHIKAWA (year of birth unknown - March 13, 1269) was a busho (Japanese military commander) in the Kamakura period. He was the eighth family head of the Mutsu Ishikawa clan, which followed Yamato-Genji (Minamoto clan).
He was the first son of Hirosue ISHIKAWA
He was the father of Mitsunaga ISHIKAWA, Nagahide ISHIKAWA, Sadanori ISHIKAWA and Sadahito ISHIKAWA. He filled posts of Jugoinoge (Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade) Suruga no kami (the governor of Suruga Province) and jushiinoge (Junior Fourth Rank, Lower Grade) Samanokami (the head of the section taking care of imperial horses). His wife was a daughter of Yasutoki HOJO.
His childhood name was Senkatsumaru. He was renamed to Mitsusada after celebrating his coming of age and was appointed to Jugoinoge (Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade) Suruga no kami (the governor of Suruga Province).
In March 1263, he was granted an audience with the Seitaishogun (commander-in-chief of the expeditionary force against the barbarians, great, unifying leader) Sanbon Imperial Prince Munetaka and met Tokiyori HOJO
He went up to Kyoto to enter the imperial court and was appointed to Jushiinoge (Junior Fourth Rank, Lower Grade) Samanokami (Captain of the Left Division of Samaryo).
