Ichijo Tadayoshi (一条忠良)
Tadayoshi ICHIJO (May 2, 1774 - July 5, 1837) was a Court noble who lived during the Edo period.
He was the son of Teruyoshi ICHIJO and called himself Taishoji. His lawful wife was the daughter of Narishige HOSOKAWA. He had a number of children including Sanemichi ICHIJO, Tadaka ICHIJO, Takemichi KOGA, Hideko ICHIJO (the lawful wife of Iesada TOKUGAWA), Princess Tomo (also known as Kanshoin, the lawful wife of Nariteru IKEDA), Michiko (the lawful wife of Yorisato MATSUDAIRA), and Takako (the lawful wife of Sukehiro TAKATSUKASA).
In 1783, he was granted the rank of Jusanmi (Junior Third Rank) (he was later granted the rank of Juichii [Junior First Rank] in 1799), and experienced the Naidaijin (Inner Minister), the Udaijin (Minister of the Right), and the Sadaijin (Minister of the Left). In 1814, he became the Kanpaku (Chief Adviser to the Emperor). He resigned as Kanpaku in 1823, but was granted the title of Jusango (honorary rank next to the three Empresses: Great Empress Dowager, Empress Dowager, and Empress) in 1828.
