Kajuji Tsuneshige (勧修寺経茂)

Tsuneshige KAJUJI (1430-June 17, 1500) was a court noble, or Kugyo (the top court official), in the Muromachi period.

He was the eighth family head of the Kajuji family which was Tosho-ke (the hereditary lineage of court nobles occupying relatively high ranks), and the main branch of Kanroji of the Takafuji group of the Northern House of the Fujiwara clan, an important noble family.

Career

He was a child of Tsunenao KAJUJI, Sangi (councilor). He was an adopted son of Norihide KAJUJI, Jun-daijin (Vice Minister).

Gon Chunagon (a provisional vice-councilor of state) Masaaki KAJUJI was his adopted son (he was actually a son of Norihide KAJUJI).

On January 25, 1461, he became Sangi.

The most senior rank and position he achieved was Shonii (Senior Second Rank) Gon Chunagon.
