Daisho-in Temple (Kyoto City) (大聖院 (京都市))

Daisho-in Temple is a Buddhist temple belonging to the Shingon Sect Omuro School located in Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City (formerly Keihoku-cho, Kitakuwada-gun). The principal image is Amida Nyorai.

History
Details surrounding the founding of Daisho-in Temple including the year in which it was established are unknown but the temple's statue of the Eleven-faced Kannon dates from the Heian period. It went through repeated periods of decline and prosperity before reaching its current form in the early modern period.
