Saginomori-jinja Shrine (鷺森神社)
It is said that Saginomori-jinja Shrine was erected during the Jogan era (Japan) (in 859-877). This shrine was Ubusunagami (guardian deity of one's birthplace) for seven villages at the foot of Mt. Hiei, and used to be called the monarch of 修学寺. Due to the Onin War and other wars, it was relocated to its present place in the early Edo period.
