Koga Michimoto (久我通基)
Michimoto KOGA (1240-January 18, 1309) was Kugyo (court noble) during the Kamakura period. He served four generations during the rules of Emperor Gofukakusa (the 89th), Emperor Kameyama (the 90th), Emperor Gouda (the 91st) and Emperor Fushimi (the 92nd), and was promoted to Juichii (Junior First Rank), Naidaijin (Minister of the Interior). His father was Michitada KOGA, Dainagon (a chief councilor of state) and his mother was MINAMOTO no Michitoki, Ukone no chujo (a middle captain of the Right Division of Inner Palace Guards). His children were Michio KOGA, Dajo-daijin (grand minister of state), Michitsugu KOGA, Gon Chunagon (a provisional vice-councilor of state), Michieda KOGA, Sakone no chujo (middle captain of the Left Division of Inner Palace Guards) and Michinobu KOGA, Sangi (councilor).
He became Jusanmi (Junior Third Rank) and was raised to Kugyo in 1255. After experience as Sangi, Mimasaka gon no kami (provincial governor of Mimasaka Province), Gon Chunagon and Chunagon (vice-councilor of state), he became Gon Dainagon (provisional chief councilor of state) in 1269. He was appointed to Ukone no daisho (major captain of the Right Division of the Inner Palace Guards) in 1278. He was appointed to Dainagon in 1285 and also appointed to Naidaijin in 1288, but he resigned.
